Meet Laura
Laura Holland is an exciting blues singer adding contemporary, inner-city grit to the bluesy traditions of the Chess and Stax era. While the other kids were on a strict diet of Hip Hop and Eminem, Laura was listening to BB King, Memphis Slim, Etta James and the other blues legends.
A chance meeting with bass-player Jules Kleiser over a game of pool at London's famous 12 Bar Club was the catalyst for Laura to take her passion for the blues, and her extraordinarily powerful and characterful voice, to a wider audience. Guitarist Nick Sharples, keyboard player Tris Llewellyn and drummer Stuart Brown were enlisted, along with a brass section of Gerry Atkins on trumpet and Chris Whiter on saxophone, and the Laura Holland Band was born.
